The modules were designed for schools in Timor, to be used across the country. The project utilises traditional, locally produced building materials such as culm, palm tree and wood combined with the modern building techniques used with industrial materials. The classroom is the starting point for a simple, clear programme with a multiplying effect throughout the territory, adapting to climatic variations between altitude to sea level and between north and south. This intervention is based on the roots of a culture, responding with energy and humility to the need to reconstruct this place.
